Feel the Love

Happy little "mini banners" are some of my favorite projects to create. They are similar to the size of cards, but these are easily displayed for the recipient to enjoy this season and even save for future seasons. I hang a few of these around my house to remind me to create, enjoy my designs, and to add a little "happy" to my day!

I created several of these banners by grabbing many scraps of paper, extra die cuts from previous projects, and new products.

The first layer features the Petal Cone die cut embossed with the Lacy Brocade die on Coredinations cardstock. I sanded the cardstock to reveal the inner color.  The next layers include the Oval Accents Bigz Clear die embossed with the Honeycomb folder and a Crumb Cake Paper Doily Sizzlits L die.

I gathered a piece from the Paper Doilies pack to create folds under the framed circle from the Perfect Pennants BigzL die. The "XO" were cut from the Typeset Alphabet Bigz die set.  Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon create a cute handle!

My stamp session resulted in severeal banner designs I will share with you later. If you are interested in creating a few of these, grab your scraps and start to play. With all my scraps, I began arranging pieces to create a really fun puzzle!  I loved the finished product and plan to share with family and friends!

Butterfly Friend

The first stamp to WOW me in the Spring Catalog was the Swallowtail image.  I HAD TO HAVE IT! 

I wasn't sure how I would use the large image on a card, but I made it work on this design. Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight were my inspiration colors.  Adding a pop of white with the BRAND NEW Paper Doilies added feminine charm. 

Have you noticed my LOVE of embossing folders? I HAD TO HAVE the Honeycomb folder! I am using it all the time!  I enjoy mixing and matching texture designs, so I embossed the Apothecary Framelits die with the Perfect Polka Dots design.

The card was completed with the FRIEND greeting from the Amazing Family stamp set. 

This week has been my chance to create cards for family and friends. My goal is to send birthday cards in a timely manner this year. I have already missed a few, but the cards will arrive THIS MONTH for a change! LOL

Mother's Day for a Minute

When I created this page, I was living in a brief moment of happiness. As most mothers do, I had hope for a wonderful week. Parent conferences, phone calls, and office referrals became my reality.

This is WHY I SCRAPBOOK.

Life has plenty of challenges and pity parties.  Should we document the good, the bad, and the ugly in our family scrapbooks?  Do we paint pictures of perfect lives? It is your choice.

I scrapbook and document life's happy moments because I personally want to celebrate the small things.  I prefer to look at my life and take note of the goodness and sweetness offered as hope for more.  Hayden's karate instructor taught his students to be "good finders." 

• Content for my scrpabooks are MY CHOICE. I am in control.
• Scrapbooking is therapeutic and a reminder of how good life can be. I personally don't choose to dwell on the negative for years to come.
  
• Scrapbook layouts are memories for children. I want Hayden to remember his strengths and build on them.  The content can be considered "positive reinforcement" of behaviors to continue.
• * Traditions are passed down to generations through scrapbook documentation.
• *Digital scrapbooking is instant gratification. The four layouts, shared this week, were all created in little over an hour. When I created pages with traditional materials, much more time and money was required.  I can easily print the pages for my scrapbook; email and share with family instantly; or create an entire book for Stampin' Up! to print, bind, and ship for me.

MORNING STROLL FOR TURKEYS

Our neighborhood brings surprises on a regular basis. Wild animals visit often.  Deer, geese, badgers, frogs, and snakes have toured our yards.  I will admit I prefer Hayden and friends, Sammy and Sally pups, neighbors, and stamping friends.

MEMBERSHIP FOR HAYDEN AND ME

My Digital Studio sure makes scrapbooking quick and easy!  Although I am not "current" on scrapbooking all family events and special memories, I can say I have documented several events in less than a month. 

When I actually add journaling, titles, backgrounds, and embellishments to special photo memories; the events are preserved for us and future generations.

Joining our church was the most important decision we have made in several months. Since our first visit, I didn't have to plead with Hayden to get dressed and ready to attend Sunday School and worship.  He is motivated and excited about learning about Jesus and seeing his Christian buddies. Hayden loves to sing hymns, pray, and recite The Lord's Prayer each week.  The children's sermon and children's church time are his favorite within the hour.  Growing closer to God  has been wonderful with Hilldale United Methodist Church.
